Almaty

In 2022 I had a chance to visit magical Kazakhstan. I felt incredibly inspired after the trip which resulted in these designs and animations.

Almaty is a city located in the foothills of Trans-Ili Alatau. It's surrounded by magnificent mountains and has breathtaking views. The name is derived from the Kazakh word for apple "alma" which can be translated as full of apples. The city was originally called Almatau which means Apple Mountain. 

Fun fact! The fruit originated in the area and then later spread around the world. Kazakhstan has one of the tastiest apples I have ever tried in my life.

I wanted to incorporate these historical fun facts into the design to portray the city accurately.
